Pick Up an Idea Box!

For each of our input events, we will have ‘Idea Boxes’ available for you to do during the event or take home to do on your own. Each Idea Box has all the materials you need to share your ideas, and also includes some fun project swag!

If you complete your idea box during the event, we will collect your completed idea box at the end of the event (and say a hearty ‘thank you!’). If you want to take home your Idea Box, you can share your visions in 1 of 3 ways:

  1. Drop off your ideas and the Idea Box at Town Hall. We will photograph your ideas and recycle the Idea Box.

  2. Use the #GetIntoGranby hashtag to post photos of your ideas to either Instagram or Facebook. We will be monitoring both platforms to see what ideas emerge!

  3. Email photos of your ideas directly to us! kristin.cypher@mbakerintl.com

The Scope of our Project Improvements

Downtown Greenspaces

The Downtown Greenspaces will design amenities and overall improvements to three lots in Granby’s historic downtown.

Signage & Wayfinding

The Signage & Wayfinding will help people find their way into and around the Granby community, while also helping to tell a story of Granby’s sense of place, character, and history.

The Three Downtown Greenspace & Urban Design Lots

  • The BLUE Lot

The Blue Lot offers many connection opportunities - to the alley, to the street, and along the currently open edge adjacent to the Credit Union. Creatively working with the community to understand how this space should feel/function will help our team design spaces that help draw residents and visitors into the site and to the Town Hall complex through a potentially enhanced alley pathway.

  • The TOWN OWNED Lot

The Town Owned Lot offers a gateway opportunity to link the Downtown to parks and amenities south of the RR tracks, and vice-versa. Adjacent to new/existing development, the lot offers opportunities to create a strong and memorable edge along Agate that includes a compelling information point, shaded areas, places to rest, and a strong connection to the existing transit stop.

  • The GARRETT Lot

The Garrett Lot offers wonderful opportunities to create overlooks, stair seating, and other viewing areas that take advantage of the site vistas and create compelling connections to the new boardwalk space. Connections within and through this space can be enhanced with grade changes and gateways at either end. Shaded spaces in the interior of this park could also enhance the ‘wow’ factor of southern views.

Project Timeline

The Downtown Granby Greenspace and Wayfinding Plan will run from Summer to Winter 2024.
